Mimes are definitely not exclusive to the circus, and this is a whole series of photos? Rubes must really feel empowered applying a word that was once used to describe people with physical deformities.
Half-assed clown makeup, MySpace style vomit font and use of derogatory term applied to able-bodied person. Yup, that’s a rube alright.
Rubes really need to cut this ‘circus freaks’ shit out because it’s definitely not cute.
Really not sure what is ‘circus’ about this photo.
The term ‘freaks’ is derogatory against those who with physical deformities and is one that should not be applied to able-bodied individuals, pretty much ever.
Rubes sure love tagging photos of carousels as ‘circus’. Not sure why this is, because we have never seen a carousel at an actual circus. Maybe someone can enlighten us.

We like the girl, but had more effort been made, this could have been a really phenomenal photograph. Sadly, it just comes off as cheap reeks of stereotyping.
Zooey Deschanel in a circus-themed photoshoot.
Without the caption, we would have thought this was someone at a dance recital or play or something. Where exactly is the circus?
Just not seeing the circus in this.

Do we even need to talk about the stripes?

Contrary to popular belief, we do not “hate” on everything. Or anything actually, because everyone is allowed to comment on content publicly posted on the Internet. Don’t like what is posted here? Quit reading.
Anyway, this is brilliant and serves as an example of how subtle inspiration goes a long way.
